Raymond Mays Motoring Memorial

DescriptionThe memorial stone for Raymond Mays was unveiled on the 16th of November in 2003, having been paid for with the proceeds of the Bourne Motor Heritage festival to the cost of £10,000.

The design was drawn up by Mrs Carol Corliss, the bronze relief plaque was completed by Alex Paxton; A Derby Sculptor who had previously produced other work connected with motor racing. The stone itself was finished in Clipham stone by Gary Tegerdine, A stonemason from Langcroft near to Bourne. The site was decided on south street, beside the Bourne Heritage centre.

The unveiling ceremony was performed by Louis Stanley and David OwenDate16th November 2003
